"Flood Cove" is Durham-based 2Dwave's most recent experiment in translating the vibes, emotions, and memories of a meaningful place into atmospheric dance music - specifically, a homonymous street off the coast of Portland, Maine. Meant for nighttime, "Flood Cove" plays ode to more traditional house with piano samples, prominent woodblocks, and scattered hi-hats, while the use of unexpected field recordings and hardware synthesizers give the track a more organic character. Building methodologically, this groovy tune weaves in and out of a very intentional, almost meditative space, before fulfilling its promise of an ever-so-satisfying break.
